What is the point of Famode.com?
Famode.com can help you to make new friends and business contacts in the Modelling industry by networking online. It also gives you the opportunity to raise your profile regardless of your experience, whether you're totally new to the modelling world or you're looking to boost your career.

I’m an aspiring Model, is Famode for me?
You do not need to have any experience whatsoever to join Famode.com. Famode.com will help you get in touch with the right people, advise you on whether modelling is right for you and educate you on industry news, events and features.

Should I use Famode if I don’t want to become a Model?
Famode.com is a site for all of those that want to network with ALL modelling industry professionals and other like-minded people such as: Agents, Photographers, Makeup Artists, and Stylists, Dancers, Actors, Fashion Designers, Musicians and many others!

How does the site work?
Simply register online for FREE! It will take you a few seconds- if you’re quick! And then continue to use the site for FREE. It’s that easy!

Then what?
The details that you use to register will automatically be used to create your own unique profile. By owning your own profile, you’ll be able to speak to other people. You can do this by contacting them via the Famode messaging system and inviting them to be your friend/business contact. Simply wait for a response to be accepted by them, then – voila! New friends and new contacts- at the touch of a button!

What else can Famode do for me?
Once you have your Profile, you will be able to upload your photos to a Photo Gallery. This is what we call your “online Portfolio.” Essentially this shows off all of your photos- but online, so that you can show other people your work. If you want your photos to be seen you have the choice to either make your photos “Public” but if you wish to keep everything between you and your friends, simply adjust your setting to “Private.”

Do I just get to choose how many photos I upload and how does this work?
Famode allows you up to 50 photos in your portfolio, but just to give you the freedom of choice, we have given you 3 styles of portfolios to choose from. Just go into your “Edit My Portfolio” button, on your profile and then choose from: Silver Style 1, Or Gold style 1 or 2. By choosing Silver style 1, you will be allowed up to 8 photos. By choosing Gold Style 1 or 2, you will be allowed up to 50 photos with 2 different lay outs. It just means that if you are new to this scene, and you have no wish to upload 50 shots, then you can just choose Silver style 1. It’s entirely up to you!

What else can Famode offer me as a Member in general?
As well as being able to invite people to view your profile and your photos, you’ll be able to catch up on the latest News in the Modelling industry.

Leisurely read up on the industry related feature Articles that will probably make you feel inspired to discuss topics in the Forum. Then have your say in your own Blog page and perhaps offload into an online diary.

Don’t just network and socialise, but also inspire yourself and allow yourself to debate about the topics you’ve always wanted to discuss. Whatever you have to say about the industry, share it with others and make yourself heard!

Why is the advice and information mainly aimed at Models and not the whole industry?
Here at Famode, our aim is to help everyone in the Modelling industry, however, our main focus remains on the Modelling scene. This is purely because this is a Modelling industry website and much of what we do surrounds Models and Modelling Agencies. However in the future, depending on the level of interest and demand, we will also be looking to expand our Advice and Info section for other sectors too.

Does Famode provide any help in finding an Agent?
Famode does not favour nor sponsor any particular Agent to scout Famode talent. However we have made Famode simple enough for Agents to register their business profile and start scouting online straight away.

Can my photos or Profile be found by just using Google?
Yes! If you want someone to check out your photos or find you on Famode simply tell them to Google your name and Famode- and your profile should appear instantly.

People will be able to view your portfolio, but not contact you unless they are registered Members and unless they friend request you first. This way, you have control over who befriends you and contacts you.

How do I know that the people contacting me are genuine?
Famode only allows safe and reputable Agencies to join the site. All agencies/companies have to register with Famode to us this service, which allows us to do checks on them and keep track of who they are.

I’ m already a Model how would Famode help me if I already have an Agent?
Modelling is constantly about networking- and if you are an established Model, you should know this. Networking is not just a great way to make friends, but also to help you gain more exposure for you and your Agent. By adding your Agency details on your portfolio, you will be reassuring people contacting you that you are a serious, professional Model who is represented by a good Agent. People will then simply get in touch with your Agent to book you. This helps not just you but also your Agent- and it’s all FREE!

I am a Photographer, not a Model why should I use Famode if it is for the Modelling industry?
Same as before, so that you can network and source people to do Test shoots with or TFP (Time for Prints).

I am a Makeup Artist or Stylist why is Famode useful to me?
Similar to photographers, Famode can help you to network and gain more experience via an online community that specialises in the same industry as yours. If you are struggling to find the right people, Famode can put you in touch with a broad selection of people.

Do I have to pay a fortune to become a member or to benefit from Famode.com?
The answer is NO! We are FREE FREE FREE!

Who can I ask for an honest opinion?
The whole point of Famode.com is to be able to chat to people to see what they think of your photos or CV. Talk to as many people as possible, ask their opinion and of course try to help others too. This site is about sharing your experiences as a community so please be helpful to those that ask for advice from you too!

I am not very computer literate, is Famode hard to use?
Famode has been specifically designed so that people who are not used to complex websites can use it. (Not to say that anybody using this site is thick!! It’s just that we thought we would create an attractive, easy to use site that is helpful, rather than complex and annoying! The consistent page designs have been created so that you always feel like you are on the same page. Navigation is easy! And if you get lost, just go to the site map to find you what you are looking for.

How much does it cost if I want to upload any photos?
Like we’ve said- not a penny!! It’s FREE FREE FREE!!

I want to put my photos online but I only want my friends or people that I invite to see my photos. Is this possible?
Yes that is possible; just make sure you have the correct privacy settings on your portfolio.

Is it safe to meet someone on the site?
Here at Famode, we always recommend that you take all the necessary precautions before you give out personal details or meet someone. If you do go to meet someone, take someone with you, or let someone know where you are going. Try to obtain as much information about the person that you will be meeting before you go to meet them. Remember, your safety always comes first. (*Please revert to Terms and Conditions for more information).

Can I search for other members on the site?
Yes, you can use the Search Members button to look for other members that you may or may not know on the site. You can search by name, or location, or specialty or gender- or all 4! You don’t have to be a member to do this, so you can get an idea of what kind of people are already on the site before you join. You must, however, be registered as a member of Famode before you can start contacting people.

How does my Agency get exposure through the site?
As an agency you can gain exposure by creating your own profile, as an advertising page for your company. You will also be able to list all your news by emailing it to us at: news@famode.com and we will do the rest! We also provide hyper links to your Home pages to make sure that all relevant traffic filters through to your site from any of your relevant Models that are already on the site and who are represented by you. All of this and it’s all for FREE!

I am an Agent how can I be sure that other Agencies are not trying to poach my models?
We have limited tAgency Profiles on Famode, so that new Agents can not get in touch with existing and represented Models via the private messaging system. The main aim of an Agency profile is to allow new Models and unrepresented talent to get in touch with “you” the Agent to see if they have a chance of getting signed. Models who are represented will have it clearly marked on their portfolios.

I am an Agent- How can I scout for New talent/Faces on Famode if I have a limited Agency profile?
Essentially scouting for new faces can be carried out by you (the Agent) for FREE by simply creating a normal Agency profile on Famode, and searching through the site’s members.

Famode allows you as an Agent to contact Models via limited Posts on their walls ONLY. This way, Famode can see all levels of communication between you and Models and spot any early signs of “poaching.” We also have a “reporting” system in place if Models/talent wishes to report you. If this happens your profile will simply be removed.
